Character: Gary Seven / Supervisor 194

Fandom: Star Trek : TOS / Star Trek : Assignment Earth

Background: Gary Seven was born in the Zeta Gamma 537 as a product of Aegis breeding programs to produce elite agents to negotiate time and keep civilizations that are meant to become peaceful and prosperous on the proper path. At the pinnacle of human evolution in our current form, he’s capable of quick regeneration (not mutation quick, but bullet wounds heal within a day), lack of or extremely slow aging, extreme strength, resistance to telepathy and negotiation of pain, and the highest possible IQ that a human is capable of.

His first major assignment on Earth was to complete the work of agents 347 and 201. His transport beam from his planet put him aboard the Enterprise, along with his assistant Isis. He almost overpowered several crew members, resisting the Vulcan nerve pinch from Spock, but then was knocked unconscious by a phaser blast by Captain Kirk. He later escaped using his servo (a multi-versatile tool that allows him to perform a myriad of tasks from unlocking doors to lulling people into a sense of hypnotic gullibility). Isis joined him and they beamed down to the office of the former agents.

He inadvertently exposed Roberta Lincoln, the secretary for the agents, to the conspiracy in mistaking her for the female subordinate. He later discovered the two were actually killed instantly in a suspicious car accident. He set about stopping the launch of a nuclear orbital platform so Earth wouldn’t suffer the same fate as Omicron III.

Gary Seven continued to work with Miss Lincoln once she came around to the idea that they were trying to save the Earth. Three months after their initial meeting, she assisted him in trying to stop a Russian plot to penetrate the nuclear facility “Hercules”. There he met Dr. Diana Winters, who was in charge of a project to produce an enhanced fusion bomb (which destroyed the entire civilization on Delphi Centaurus VI). He fell for her before discovering that she was a KGB agent bent on detonating the bomb.

The had to infiltrate the Enterprise (though this time he wasn’t noticed aboard this time) and Singleton Airforce Base to ensure the safe return of an airforce pilot that the crew beamed aboard when they realized his fighter jet was disintegrating under the force of their tractor beam. Though neither recall anything of the incident and Beta Five deleted the anomalous memory fragment related to it.

He uncovered a plot by the government to circumvent the peace movement by creating a group of elite “perfect” soldiers, almost all of whom Arian. Beta Five transported them to an Earthlike planet in the Vega system. Isis disguised herself as a human to go undercover and infiltrate the peace movement on the university campus conducting the research, and operated with him in this form for a good deal of the mission.

When Counter Strike came to Earth in an effort to destroy mankind as they felt they evolved too quickly too fast, Gary Seven worked to try and stop them. However he was shot in the process by a mind-controlled animal control agent. Counter Strike also had a field aboard their ship that prevented the servo from working.

When the Soviets tried to replace Nixon with a Soviet duplicate, Gary Seven had to ensure at least one of them showed up to resign from the presidency after the Watergate scandal. He never verified which one was the retiree, either. He proceeded to stop an assassination attempt on Mao Tse-Tung and prevent the cover-up of Watergate altogether.

Before the great third world war and after the rule of the Augments, he encountered Rose Tyler while she was universe hopping in search of the Doctor. He appealed to the Aegis and had them assist in a “map” to help her out, pointing out if a time sensitive enemy could decimate one universe there was always the risk that it could cross over into the next. As the Aegis have no policy against interfering in the workings of planets or other universes, they were more than happy to oblige.*

In Assignment Eternity, he inadvertently warped the Enterprise through space to the Romulan system, where he found his close friend Agent 146 (Septos) and his horned cat Osiris. A Romulan agent named Dellas discovered the Aegis’s plot to guide Romulus into a peaceful future, she attempted to use the technology for her personal gain and killed Septos and Osiris before Seven could stop her. He then had to prevent her from assassinating Spock at the Khitomer Conference, though Isis had to rescue both Kirk and Seven.

He had to stop a group of renegade Aegis agents and recruit the crew of the Enterprise again. Though Later, he was killed by the Devidians. That time his student Exana, an Aegis Supervisor, and her cat Nova sought out the Enterprise (both the 1701 and the 1701 D) to assist in stopping the Devidians. The Aegis found Gary Seven an integral part of history and removed his death from the timeline. Later, Exana died interfering with a Borg cube and was not restored.

Gary Seven’s greatest role in Trek history was probably what he did in thwarting Khan Noonian Singh’s rise to absolute power. Supposedly wishing to create a race of perfect individuals to lead humanity into Utopia, Sarina Kaur (Khan’s surrogate mother) actually wished to destroy the remnants of humanity so the new Augments could replace them. Gary Seven destroyed the project and beamed the augmented children into an orphanage. He also uncovered Flint’s plan to destroy the world through deteriorating the ozone layer.

Physical Description: Gary Seven is intentionally of average appearance. He had light blue eyes and brown hair. He is 6’3’’ and physically fit, and wears clothes to fit the era/assignment he’s participating in.
